We've released a new version of OpenPhone which adds some functionality and fixes a few issues. Here's what's changed in version 4.0.21.

  • Android devices are now aware of OpenPhone calls. That means that your calls will now appear on, and be controlled by, more wearables and Bluetooth devices!
  • Fixed an issue where conversations were not updating correctly for some users.
  • Improved reliability when using Bluetooth devices for calls.

Update OpenPhone now via the Google Play Store to take advantage of these updates. As always, more to come soon!

We've released a new version of OpenPhone which adds some functionality and fixes a few issues. Here's what's changed in version 3.30.

  • Added a one-time prompt to let users know about scheduled messages.

  • Side menu accessibility has been improved. You can now navigate it using only your keyboard!
  • Our Choose a Plan page in onboarding was updated with improved designs and responsiveness.
  • Importing large volumes of Google contacts would sometimes fail, so we completely refactored the process to make it more reliable.
  • Fixed an issue where the credit card modal was not sizing correctly when updating billing information.
  • Fixed an issue where phone number settings were not displaying correctly on new login.
  • Fixed a layout issue where Add a User button in phone number settings was too close to text.
  • Other bug fixes and improvements (27 in total!)

We've released a new version of OpenPhone which adds some functionality and fixes a few issues. Here's what's changed in version 3.29.

  • Added a hover delay to our new quick actions to prevent accidental clicks.

  • Made it easy to know which phone number inbox you're trying to delete by asking you to type out its name before proceeding.

  • You can now specify cents when purchasing calling credit. We'll also show a confirmation screen when making large credit purchases.

  • Added new validation to the billing information form during onboarding to prevent registration errors.

  • Updated the tooltip when posting a contact note from "send message" to "write a note" to improve clarity.

  • Updated our HubSpot integration copy to make it easier to understand.

  • Fixed an issue where contacts would not save when being created.

  • Other fixes and improvements.

  • Window users can now manage OpenPhone notifications through Windows' notification system.

  • Added a max height to the message compose box to prevent the UI from breaking when typing longer messages.

  • Fixed a bug where you couldn't search by city when looking for a new phone number.

  • Fixed a bug where you couldn't tap the enter key to initiate a call from the calling modal.

  • Other small fixes and improvements (18 in total!)

  • You no longer need to manually select the first option in the message scheduling window. We'll focus on it by default, so you can just hit enter.
  • Fixed a bug where the emoji selector would scroll rapidly when opened.
  • Fixed a bug where the HubSpot "custom activity type" toggle would not stick when toggled on.
  • Fixed a bug where your contact list would scroll back to the top after making a selection.
  • Other fixes and improvements (16 in total!)

Scheduled messages arrive on Desktop and Web

Depending on your business, texting can be a much more efficient way to chat with customers compared to phone calls. But because they’re so easy and low-commitment, text conversations can go on all. day. long.

That's why today, we're releasing Scheduled Messages.


📆 How to schedule a message in OpenPhone

After composing your text message, click the new clock icon to launch the scheduling window. You'll find it next to the send arrow.

Next, decide when your message should be delivered: “tomorrow at 9 am pacific time,” “two weeks from tomorrow,” or even “6 pm next wednesday.” You can also cancel delivery if they message you first.

A clock icon will appear next to a conversation once a message has been scheduled for that contact. Your team can view, cancel, and even edit one anothers’ scheduled messages.

Scheduled messages are available now

Update or refresh OpenPhone for Web, Mac, and Windows to reveal the new scheduling options. This feature will be available on iPhone and iPad in the coming weeks, and Android later this year.

While we build more integrations, we thought we’d give you the option to build your own.

If you’re a developer (or a bit tech-savvy), webhooks can help you send realtime triggers from OpenPhone to any other service that’s built to receive them. That receiving service can then be customized to take any action based on whatever OpenPhone sends over.

Fixes for our HubSpot integration

 

Fix

  

The team's been hard at work on improving OpenPhone's HubSpot integration. Today, we're sharing two significant improvements:

  • Fixed an issue where the integration would fail due to a large volume of HubSpot contacts.

  • Fixed an issue where newly created contacts would not be imported after disabling and re-enabling the HubSpot integration. This was leading to contact syncing and activity logging issues.


If you're experiencing either of these issues, we recommend disconnecting and reconnecting your HubSpot integration from within OpenPhone. As always, more to come soon!

We've released a new version of OpenPhone for Android which adds some functionality and fixes a few issues. Here's what's changed in version 4.0.15:

  • Share received files and images to other applications.

  • Added the option to login with a password instead of a magic code.

  • Muted phone numbers are now clearly indicated in the side menu.

  • Created an empty state for home, team, and search screens.

  • Set OpenPhone as your default outgoing phone app when tapping phone numbers in other applications.

  • Added your unread message count to the "skip to bottom" button.

  • Fixed an issue where the screen sometimes needed to be unlocked when receiving an incoming call.

  • Fixed an issue where the keypad sometimes overlapped with call information and controls.
